The 189 MPH Speedminton®. at Hammacher Schlemmler This is Speedminton®, a faster and more powerful version of a classic racket sport that doesn’t require a net, and uses heavier, aerodynamic shuttlecocks that can travel up to 189 mph, allowing for use on any outdoor surface in calm or windy conditions. The shuttlecocks have a streamlined plastic skirt and a heavier cork, resulting in less drag during flight, while the lightweight aluminum rackets have a string tension of 26 lbs. and a more expansive sweet spot than traditional badminton rackets, ensuring optimal control and velocity when striking the shuttlecock.
