Trumpeter Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 - Special Price $9.99, Regular Price $13.99 icon

"Rich in espresso and roasted nut aromas, this big cabernet has strong, youful tannins and pungent acidity. A super value for an Argentina asado."
-Wines & Spirits

The grapes are sourced from the 32 year old vineyards in the Maipu district of Mendoza about 2,600 feet above sea-level. Hand-tended and hand-harvested, the Rutini family’s high altitude vineyards provide the foundation for Trumpeter. Destemmed for a 15 day fermentation and maceration. Ageing takes place for 7 months in 50% new French oak and 50% in second and third use American oak. 100% malolactic fermentation.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Juicy berry fruit aromas lead into concentrated flavors of raspberries and blackberries. Well-balanced with firm tannins. Hints of vanilla, cocoa and sweet oak appear on the finish.

Domaine de Nizas Coteaux du Languedoc 2003

space
Domaine de Nizas Coteaux du Languedoc 2003 - Our Price $17.99 icon

This AOC Coteaux du Languedoc is the Domaine’s flagship wine and expresses the essence of the terroir of Caux-Nizas. The Syrah has floral expression and medium body on our types of soil, whilst the Mourvèdre tends to be fuller bodied with good structure and complexity, which has not ceased to add to the palate since its introduction into the blend in 2001.

As for the Grenache, it brings superb generosity and softness to the wine. The oak aging of part of the wine to be included in the final blend in large barrels, aims to enhance the Mediterranean character of our wines without dominating it. Thanks to its structure and balance, this fine wine from Languedoc can be cellared and aged for many years.

Blend: 60% Syrah, 35% Mourvédre, 5% Grenache Noir

Catena Chardonnay 2006

Catena Chardonnay 2006 - Our Price $17.99 icon

"Catena Zapata’s 2006 Chardonnay was sourced from three estate vineyards and fermented with natural yeasts. It then spent 10 months sur-lie in French oak, 40% new. Light gold-colored with a slight green tint, it exhibits a nose of slate, toast, butterscotch, pear, and apple. Medium-bodied, the wine is nicely balanced by crisp acidity, and the flavors are intense and persistent. Drink this outstanding value over the next 1-2 years. When all is said and done, Catena Zapata is the Argentina winery of reference – the standard of excellence for comparing all others. The brilliant, forward-thinking Nicolas Catena remains in charge, with his daughter, Laura, playing an increasingly large role. The Catena Zapata winery is an essential destination for fans of both architecture and wine in Mendoza. It is hard to believe, given the surge in popularity of Malbec in recent years, that Catena Zapata only began exporting Malbec to the United States in 1994."
